Contact Photos Not Showing

What to do if a contact on the Inglenook screen is showing initials instead of their photo.

If a contact tile shows a coloured circle with initials instead of a photo, it means Inglenook can’t find a photo for that contact. This is normal and the contact still works — tapping it will still let your parent call or message them.

Why the photo might be missing

  • The contact doesn’t have a photo saved in the phone’s Contacts app.
  • The photo was stored by a synced account (e.g. Google or WhatsApp) and hasn’t loaded yet.
  • The contact was recently added and the photo hasn’t synced to the device.

Adding a photo to a contact

Photos are managed in the phone’s Contacts app, not in Inglenook. To add one:

  1. Open the Contacts app.
  2. Find and tap the contact.
  3. Tap Edit (pencil icon).
  4. Tap the photo circle at the top and choose a photo from the gallery or take a new one.
  5. Save the contact.

The photo should appear on the Inglenook screen within a few seconds.

If the photo still doesn’t appear

Try removing the contact from Inglenook and adding them again:

  1. Open Inglenook Settings → Contacts.
  2. Remove the contact.
  3. Tap Add contact and add them again.

This refreshes the stored photo link.
