Setting Inglenook as Your Default Home App

How to replace the standard home screen with Inglenook so it opens every time your parent presses the home button.

After installing Inglenook, the final step is making it the home screen that appears whenever your parent presses the home button on their phone.

Steps

  1. Press the home button on the phone.
  2. Android will ask which app to use as the home screen — tap Inglenook.
  3. Tap Always to make it the permanent default.

Inglenook will now open every time the home button is pressed.

Setting it manually

If the automatic prompt didn’t appear, or you want to switch later:

  1. Open the phone’s Settings app.
  2. Go to Apps → Default apps → Home app.
  3. Select Inglenook.

The exact wording varies by phone manufacturer, but the path is always through Settings → Apps → Default apps.
